thank god the last four days are over...shit has been hectic...and interestingly enough, around the same time we get a break israel chills on bombing the shit out of lebanon...weird...

anyways, lots of ridiculousness in the air...rolling stone reviewed gnarls biggie right after taking a big gulp of haterade (its on page 100 of the new issue right next to justin timberlakes new album...ha) and we got half a star less than the new pharell album (ha). we're shocked by this, since we really made no effort to get them this music. also, they claim none of the songs synch up, which unless im tempo-deaf is a straight up lie. but hey, they also thought if john kerry got elected he would actually change shit. come on...skull and bones...on top of that my dad reads rolling stone...he's cool (and he's intrigued by the album) but as with every 40-something person into music, inherently out of touch...i hope to be like him someday...

ultimately, the best part is that this tape went from being a joke to being an album that rolling stone took seriously...and even better is that people pay publicists and managers shit loads of dough to get rolling stone reviews and we got one for nothing...i do wish we had the album properly mastered but hey we don't have any budget for stuff like that...

that brings me to my next point...if anybody who reads thsi blog wants to master gnarls biggie, email us and lets make it happen...we can't pay but you can get your name on the project...hope to hear from you...

so someone created a new Gnarls Biggie myspace page. We did the same thing a month ago to try and build hype but it was shut down in under four days (some of you may remember that). Hopefully this fan does better than us. yo, so much love to all those at the release. it was wild.

but on to the new shit, Gnarls Biggie...this is an epic story that will soon be everywhere...spread the word...

so last wednesday elsewhere and i were making some new remixes when we stumbled upon a dope mix of a Biggie Accapella with the instrumental for the Gnarls Barkley song "Crazy". It was so hot we said to each other, lets make a whole cd of biggie with Gnarls Barkley beats...we titled the idea "Gnarls Biggie" and we commenced to finish three songs. We then created a myspace page and did nto expect much. Two days and four-hundred hits later some fascist decided we had to be stopped and the page was taken down dude to copyright infringement.

The irony was unbelievable. How could someone have reported us? Do they not know the history of DJ Dangermouse and the Grey Album? This guy built his career on pirated material.

after a exciting, yet greuling, night of playing at the country hip hop festival at southpaw and then staying up all night licking sugar cubes between drinking presidentes i must say im happy to finaly be at work with a little peace and quiet.

its been a hectic week but the weekend looks to be crazier so gear up...

tonight, im back at mo pitkins should be interesting...$3 millers and yours truly, present...

but saturday the realness is back as sound advice returns to our home base, supreme trading...its been almost a month since we've had one of these so come through and say "hi"...then proceed to dance like a maniac...

oh and last but not least, THE MIX IS DONE!!! 1000 copies sit in my apartment patiently awaiting distribution so holla at me if you want one...or of you come out this weekend i might just hit you off with one...

we've been meaning to start doing this for awhile. the buried treasure segment of the blog where we find a spanking ridiculous record to bring to your attention. i might get blasted for this but for our first selection, I have chosen a record I found at my job today...perhaps the most incredible album of the past two decades (or maybe not)...

ladies and gents...behold...The Surf M.C.'s

they apparenty came out in 1987 on profile (run-dmc's label) and oh my god this ish is ridiculous. total run-dmc/beastie knock off with blaring guitar riffs, classic drum machines and some of the cheesiest surfin'-inspred raps you have ever heard.

here's the first verse on the album, from the title track "surf or die"...

sorry i've been absent for so long. some sort of bacteria had me down and out for two weeks. could hardly move.

anyways, lots has happened. i'll try to get through as much as i can...

-next, the SHAC 7 were found guilty in Jersey today. If you haven't heard about them yet be sure to read up. There is a major media blackout about this. Tell everybody you can.

-Chomsky is saying what I've been thinking for a long time. It's time for disarmament.

-I also have been saying this for awhile...9/11 was a sham...hope i don't scare ya too much...but the truth will conquer...

-the sound advice tape has taken another step towards finality...i'd say we got like 25 days til copies are out...amazingly, you can pre-order here

hope you enjoyed the state of the union two nights ago. can't believe how many lies can be crammed into an hour. how about that democrats response thing too? since when did they do that? and why the hell did they choose the governor of virgina to speak? weird. anyways, here's some analysis on the speech.

(pardon my rambling, but when is a president going to address this epidemic...probably never but hopefully the military goes bankrupt soon and the problem will disappear.)
